OMG not another Blog!!!! lol
“Write a blog” they say, “tell people what you have to say.” Really?? Is it possible that what I have to say could possibly be interesting enough for people not only to want to read but to follow? Well, we’ll soon see.
So why Photography? Well, I have always loved taking photos, capturing images, special moments... Blah Blah Blah!! Really? This isn’t what you want to hear. It’s the same old crap that everyone spews out!
The truth is I didn’t decide to go professional until my nineteen year old niece, Lucy died of an asthma attack. I had encouraged Lucy to study Photography when she finished school as she had a real eye for it. So, when she died I kind a took up the mantel for her and because I realised that life can be over in an instant. Why hide away in a boring job when I can be doing what I really love, being an Artist. Isn't that the dream, be paid to do what you love?
So anyway, that's what got me onto this crazy road of being a professional photographer. A career where you can travel and meet new people all the time. Be a part of those special moments in your clients lives and if you're lucky enough make new friends.
At the age of forty making new friends isn’t easy. Photography is a great way to connect with people. I’m a bit of a people pleaser so when I see the look on a client’s face when they get their photos back and of course, they love them, I get a little buzz inside and that pushes me on to be a great Artist.
Short and sweet for my first post. Don’t want you to fall asleep on me.
Lucy aged 9, one of the brightest lights in my life.
